Merrill Area Public Schools is a leading provider of quality education for children of all ages and backgrounds. Through a focus on fostering effective partnerships with community, family and staff members, the district ensures that all students learn effectively, according to their unique needs.
Large enough to provide students with engaging programs and an array of extra-curricular offerings but small enough to personally care for each student and their family, the Merrill Area Public Schools is truly world-class.
In addition to a high school, middle school and five elementary schools, the district also includes a school forest where children can learn in nature, as well as a pre-kindergarten facility operated for Head Start and Early Childhood Special Education children.
MAPS offer a comprehensive curriculum, including reading, mathematics, science, language arts, history, fine arts, foreign language and a broad range of vocational programs. Other highlights include programs in Reading Recovery, experimental science and technology education, “school to work” and apprenticeship offerings, and special assistance programs for at-risk students.
Did you know? The Merrill School District is unparalleled in the state of Wisconsin for the number and value of scholarships awarded to its graduates each year, with an annual total of between $500,000 and $600,000 in locally funded scholarships.
