Students and families in the Merrill Area Public School district benefit from a scholarship program that has been described as the most generous in Wisconsin. 

The Merrill community has a long history of providing locally-supported scholarships to deserving students, as they embark on a variety of education and career paths.  This ongoing community and foundation support includes scholarship opportunities ranging from several hundred dollars per year to full ride scholarships to post-secondary institutions such as the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Notre Dame. 

In the spring of 2011, businesses, individuals, and families offered our 252 graduates over $650,000 in both one-time and continuing local scholarships. When scholarships from outside organizations are added to that figure, the class of 2011 earned over $1.6 million in post-secondary education awards.
