Date: May 5, 2025
Dear MAPS Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. This year, we are launching an End-of-Year Food Drive to support students and families facing food insecurity during the summer months.
Summer break can be a difficult time for many children who rely on school meals as a primary source of nutrition. To help ensure that no student goes hungry, we are collecting non-perishable food items that will be distributed to families in need within our school community.
The food drive will run May 12, 2024 - May 23, 2025 and there will be collection boxes available at each of our schools.
Drop-Off Locations: Merrill High School, Prairie River Middle School, Washington Elementary School, Kate Goodrich Elementary School.
Requested Items Include:
● Canned fruits and vegetables
● Peanut butter and jelly
● Pasta and pasta sauce
● Rice and beans
● Canned meats or tuna
● Cereal and granola bars
● Shelf-stable milk or juice boxes
We welcome your donations in any amount. Every item makes a difference. If your family is experiencing food insecurity and could benefit from this program, please reach out to your building school social worker. We will determine a distribution plan for your family’s needs. Their contact information is listed below.
